Eden Says: Smarty Pants

I LOVE having a smart daughter, I really do! But, sometimes it seriously makes my life harder (but also more amusing). Here are some recent examples:

Eden: Why do I have to do what you say?
Me: Because I'm older than you.
Eden: Well, your body is a lot older than my body but I think my spirit might be older than your spirit.

I am making Eden a princess castle for her dolls and Barbies. It is to be her Christmas present from her mama. I am making it out of a bookcase. Today she found the bookcase.

Eden: Mom, what is under that blanket over there?
Me: What do you think is under that blanket?
Eden: I think it is a box and it has a Barbie castle in it.
Me: Nope.
Eden: Well, what is it?
Me: Maybe it is just a new bookcase.
Eden: That would make me sad but I really think it is a castle, I'm going to go peak.
Me: ...and ruin the surprise?
Eden: Yup. (she then walks over and removes the blanket and finds that it is just a bookcase) ah man! Hmmm, I bet you could make a Barbie castle out of this bookcase! I'm going to go get my Barbie and see if it fits!
Me: (defeated)

Me: While we are at choir practice you can't interrupt me, ok?
Eden: Even if a really bad guy comes and starts to hit me with his sword?
Me: Well, if that happens you should of course interrupt me!
Eden: And you'll beat him up, right?
Me: Absolutely, and take him to jail!
Eden: (gasp!)  during choir????

During the Voice Male concert:
John Luthy: Each of us served LDS missions and we wanted to share a little of the languages we each learned...
Eden: Ah man, can we go to the bathroom now!?!

(this just cracks me up because it is no secret that I, and other VM wives, have a hard time sitting through that bit of schtick time after time.)

Thank you SO much for sharing these funny bits of Miss Eden. I LOVE reading them. What a humorous and mentally stimulating life you have with her. I am excited to see how her wit grows with her and am positive you will never need to 'Sudoku' every day to keep your mind sharp.
