Eden Says: New Year's Edition

Today I was telling Eden that her dad and I would use our anniversary (June 30) and New Year's Eve to talk about our accomplishments and goals. Before I could even propose that she and I do the same thing she proclaimed, "ok, I'll be dad and you ... just be yourself!"

As we discussed our plans for the upcoming year I told her that I would likely return to work when she was in kindergarten. I told her that it made me kind of sad. She said, "it could be a good thing. You'll get to see your work friends every day and you'll probably make some new friends. It is a good thing to make new friends, right?"

I asked her what she thought daddy's spirit was doing for New Year's. She said, "maybe he is at our house. Do you think our house is clean enough for his spirit to be there? [we've talked about keeping our house clean so the Spirit can dwell there.]" I said, "well it is kind of a mess but I think his spirit can be there. He'd probably like it better if it wasn't so messy though." Her quick retort, "well! I'd like it better if his spirit was in his body!"  So there Phil!
