What have we been up to? Well, it IS December and we are part of the VM family ...

. . . but that isn't really what we've been busy doing.
Eden and a couple of her friends were invited to sing at a stake function. They were so adorable as they sang "Santa Caught a Cold on Christmas Eve" complete with actions.
 |
| I didn't quite capture how adorable and cute they are, but you get the idea. Three blonde, talented, beauties. |
But, that was only two practices and one performance. Nope, that isn't what has been keeping us busy.
Lately, Eden has been writing, producing, directing and starring in some major productions at home. We have spent hours preparing for and participating/watching these one-womangirl shows.
 |
| she figured out her Mic stand all by herself. Do you love the two backup singers? |
 |
| She always has stage decor or sets. Notice the ornaments taped to the wall? I think she was trying to recreate the awesome VM stage. |
 |
| She opens each show (after a countdown of "the show will begin in 5 minutes, 4 minutes, etc.) with a loud, "LADIES and GENTLEMEN, BOYS, and GIRLS ... the show!!!" |
 |
| She "wrote" the lyrics and music herself. |
 |
| Her latest composition is entitled "Star Bright" and so she was adding this most important prop. |
 |
| The audience: li'l snowman, VM Kitty, mama snowman, and ME! |
 |
| I had no idea when designing the house that in having a landing mid-staircase I was really creating a stage. |
 |
| Eden kept leaving to compose the next number. I asked her to show me what she had written. Clearly this music has lots of de- and crescendos. It is moving music to be sure! |
And that, my friends, is what we've been up to!

She certainly is a chip off the old block, i.e. Phil...what a cutie and a talented one, too. Mom can take credit for some of that. I'm so happy you have her.
Merry Christmas, Heidi...love you
Where can I get a ticket? This is something I definitely want to see!
Corrie, I'm glad you mentioned tickets. This particular concert was "free" (she informed me I didn't need a ticket) but usually she cuts pieces of paper, hands them to me and the other "guests" and then punches a hole in them when she shows us to our seats. She is very thorough. She has even provided treats (pretend OJ and popcorn).
I could use the words to "Star Bright", if you have them handy sometime. Heather's requested that at bedtime a few times, and although she hasn't noticed that I've been winging it, she's bound to catch on sooner or later.
Oh, and by the way, Grandma Cantwell informed me that on Wednesday Heather disappeared for a bit. Beverly went looking for her, only to find her hiding behind a chair, nursing her baby. Eden's influence is felt throughout our home! (It's actually a big blessing. The other day I informed Heather that Eden ALWAYS brushes her teeth in the morning (Heather rarely does.) Worked like a charm!)
what a hoot, I love the "tickets part." Love that girl... and you!
You are such a good mommy.
She is a hoot! What a funny girl! I hope you get some of those concerts on video, because that is priceless. Definately her fathers girl! So cute!
So when are you going to post a video? I want to see!
